The Adoption Process
Our adoption process is governed by legislation in terms of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 169 of 1993 thus certain rules and regulations have to be complied with.
All persons wishing to adopt an animal from a Society shall do so in person and shall personally complete the necessary application forms, adoption and sterilization contracts, after providing satisfactory proof of his/her identity.
After an Application for Adoption form has been completed our Inspector shall conduct a Pre-Home Inspection. This must be undertaken for all animals adopted from our Society prior to the animal leaving the Witbank SPCA.
The fee payable when adopting an animal includes sterilization and identification.

Rather adopt before you buy
We urge you to please consider adopting your new best friend from the SPCA, rather than supporting breeders. Breeders mostly think about the money before they think about the well-being of their animals.
Pet shops mostly buy from breeders and can be kept in small enclosures for long periods of time.
When you adopt a cat or dog from us, you are saving a very special animal which will provide you with unconditional love. Every animal deserves a caring and loving forever-home where they can spend their lives in a loving and happy environment.
